PANASONIC TO BUNDLE FIRST 32-BIT CHARACTER GAME, `GEX,' WITH
                      REAL 3DO INTERACTIVE MULTIPLAYER
SECAUCUS, N.J., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The newest name in videogame
entertainment is "GEX"(TM), and this fast-moving gecko with the
thrashing tail and biting sense of humor is available free for a limited
time to buyers of the Panasonic REAL(TM) 3DO(TM) Interactive
Multiplayer(TM) system.
"GEX," from leading software developer and publisher Crystal
Dynamics(R), lets players control the adventures of a hyperactive
gecko lizard, brought to life with the digitized voice of comedian Dana
Gould, star of his own "HBO Comedy Special." The first 32-bit action
game character, this 3-D lizard zings irreverent one-liners, shimmies up
and down buildings with his suction-cupped paws and tailwhips the bad
guys to get out of trouble as he tries to escape the Media Dimension --
a land where pop culture "B" movies and cheesy television shows reign
supreme.
"GEX" will debut in April at retail and will be packed in specially-
marked cartons of Panasonic's new FZ-10 REAL Interactive Multiplayer
system. Consumers who purchase the FZ-10 before then will receive an
added bonus: a free copy of Crystal Dynamics' "Total Eclipse" at point
of purchase, plus a coupon for a free copy of "GEX" by mail when it
becomes available.
"`GEX' has that star quality that's bound to make him the leading
32-bit character on the videogame scene," says Gene Kelsey, assistant
general manager, Panasonic Interactive Media Division. "Crystal
Dynamics has been at the forefront in the development of 3DO software,
and this unique game further justifies their reputation as a world
leader in the 32-bit industry. The `Crash 'N Burn'(R) promotion was a
tremendous success, and we're excited to have another opportunity to
team up with them."
"The REAL 3DO Interactive Multiplayer system has what it takes to
bring `GEX' to life with photorealistic hand-rendered backgrounds and
incredibly smooth character animation," says Alan Chaplin, vice
president of sales for Crystal Dynamics.
Coupons for "GEX" must be received by June 30, 1995. The software
will be sent at no charge to the consumer.
Crystal Dynamics has quickly become the global market leader in
developing and defining the standard for advanced technology video game
software. Crystal Dynamics has products in development for a variety of
platforms, including the 3DO Interactive Multiplayer system.
The Panasonic REAL 3DO Interactive Multiplayer system is offered by
Matsushita Consumer Electronics Company (MCEC), which markets Panasonic,
Technics and Quasar brands. MCEC is a division of Matsushita Electric
Corporation of America, based in Secaucus, N.J.
